Marion Templeton and Deb Campbell have arranged a rally at Doe Park which is just up the road from Barnard Castle in County Durham. The site is situated on a traditional working farm in parkland in the grounds of a 17th century farmhouse. It is surrounded by farmland, moors, hills and dales and is an ideal base for looking round the stunning countryside of North East England.
For those that haven’t been to the area before the site is just 5 miles from Barnard Castle which is a lovely little market town dominated by a 12th century castle set high above the River Tees. Both the castle and the nearby Bowes Museum are well worth a visit.
Just down the road from the site is High Force, a very impressive waterfall. Other places of interest include Raby Castle, Beamish open air museum, Durham City and Cathedral and the Killhope Lead Mining Museum.
