Club Meet at Tansley, Matlock
Thursday 20th to Sunday 30th July 2017

We hope that you can join us at an informal Meet at Lickpenny Caravan Park near Matlock. We will be there for the whole 10 nights but you are very welcome to book any length of stay. To book please contact the site direct on 01629 583040, and mention my name when booking and they will make sure you are sited with/near us. The site has provisionally reserved 6 pitches together and will hold these until 3rd July, after which date they will release them to the general public. Pitch price is £28pn includes 1 Pitch, 1 Car, 1 Caravan/Motorhome/Trailer Tent, 2 persons and electric hook-up...children under 3, awnings and upto 2 dogs are free. Extra children 4-15 years £2.50pn, extra adults £5.00pn.

The site is really well situated, nearby there are many places of interest and things to see and do within easy distance.

  • Scotland Nurseries Garden Centre is approx 5 mins walk away, has a coffee/chocolate shop, restaurant and award winning Farm shop.
  • Tansley village, approx 1 mile. Local pubs, eating and drinking.
  • Tansley car boot market every Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays approx 10 minutes walk
  • Ashover village, approx 3 miles. Lovely picturesque village includes countryside walks and pubs for eating and drinking.
  • Lea village, approx 2 miles. Rhododendron Gardens, pub for eating and drinking.

Places of interest include

  • Matlock town approx 3 miles, shopping, park, cafes. Main town with Bus/Rail station and the Peak Rail steam train to Darley Dale and Rowsley.
  • Matlock Bath: a place to visit for all sorts of entertainment including- Heights of Abraham (Ask in reception for discount tickets!). Gulliver’s Kingdom for the younger children. Mining Museum. Promenade walk with shops/coffee stops and eating places.
  • Rowsley approx 5 miles. Historic flourmill complex. Out of town shopping.
  • Cromford: Canal walks. Arkwright historic restored mill complex. High Peak trail walks and cycles. Lea historic pump house. Masson Mill shopping village.
  • Crich approx 3 miles. Famous Tramway Museum. Village pubs/Cafe for eating and drinking.
  • Ogston reservoir, approx 2 miles. walks and nature. Bird watching. Boating.
  • Wingfield Manor (English Heritage) approx 4 miles
  • Bakewell, approx 8 miles.
  • Haddon Hall, approx 7 miles.
  • Chatsworth House, approx 8 miles.
  • Chesterfield, town shopping and the famous church with the crooked spire, approx 9 miles.
  • Hardwick Hall, approx 10 miles.
  • Bolsover Castle, approx 15 miles.

There is a bus stop approximately 10 minutes walk from the park with services that will take you to Matlock railway station.

Route from A6
Matlock Crown Square roundabout A615 (Alfreton Road) through Tansley – up the hill and continue until you see the sign for “Lickpenny” turning left at the crossroads onto Lickpenny Lane.

Route from M1
Junction 28 M1 – keep left for A38 Signposted Alfreton/Matlock – Off the A38 at Alfreton / Matlock take 3rd exit right signposted A615 Matlock – keep in the left lane and carry on the A615 for approx 8 miles “Lickpenny” is signposted turning right onto Lickpenny Lane – continue to the end of the lane and turn right again.
